One Blog

I like writing and want to write more, but there aren’t many tools that make it easy for me to do this.

For example, I want to write short learning notes and save them for easy access later on, while also being able to publish them to social platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter.

Similarly, when I write longer-form content, I want to be able to publish it to my personal blog. At the same time, I’d like to create social media posts with as much content as possible to drive viewership to my blog using a “Read More” link.

Here is an example of a LinkedIn post I had to manually create:

Screenshot of a LinkedIn post by Hruthik Reddy, a Software Engineer UI specialist in React, Next, TypeScript, Svelte and Tailwind. The post announces a blog about career reflections and future plans. Below is a preview of their personal website showing a blog post titled 'What to do next?' dated October 23, 2024. The author describes themselves as 'Mostly a Software Engineer, Sometimes a Nature Photographer.' The post includes hashtags #career and #writings, and links to read the full blog on Medium or their personal website. There's also a PS note mentioning they're working on making email inexpensive while looking for generalist roles.

Though there are several tools that do part of this, it still requires a lot of context switching. None of the tools I have explored so far have solved this problem completely. Some work with social platforms but not blogs, while others work with blogs but lack support for social platforms. I also want API access to my content wherever it is, so that I can style it myself and place it on my fully custom blog.

I am confident that creating such a tool is possible, and thus I am building One Blog. I am developing it initially as an internal tool for myself but plan to open it up to the public once I have thoroughly tested it. This project would also be huge learning experience for me.

BTW, I am building this in public, and you can follow me on Twitter or LinkedIn to stay updated on this project and also send some suggestions and feedback.
